William C. Watson to Zachariah Lamar

Milledgeville 3rd September 1816
Received five Hundred and Sixty two Dollars from Zachariah Lamar in full for a negroe man by the name of Jim which negroe man has been bound on as the property of Noah Dodridge and after having been legally advertised he was this day exposed for sale at the Courthouse in the Town of Milledgeville and the aforesaid Zachariah Lamar was the highest and best bidder at the aforesaid sum of Five Hundred and Sixty two Dollars & I do hereby warrant and defend the title of said negro to the aforesaid Lamar as Sheriff of the County of Baldwin as fully as the aforesaid Noah could have held him given under my hand the day & year first above written
